Jeans & Jewels Institute is a nonprofit agency providing leadership development programs for youth and young adults. The program will develop them by exposing them to life skills, image building, career preparation, and healthy habits. Jeans & Jewels Institute goal is to educate, inspire, and empower youth to reach their greatest potential. The development of life skills allows youth to cope with their environment by making responsible decisions, having a better understanding of their values, and being better able to communicate and get along with others.
Jeans & Jewels Institute will set up four distinct programs with extensions of workshop:
D.I.Y – Developing Innovative Youth: Developing Innovative Youth is an effective visual and performing arts, college, and career readiness program to improve academic and economic outcomes for low-income and at-risk students. The program goals is to provide transformative experiences in the arts that lead to life success in these four components: 1) Visual & Performing Arts Education 2) Entrepreneurship & Arts Career Pathways 3) College Readiness 4) Self-esteem & Self-awareness workshops
Young Guru Summer Camp: A summer program that will give promising youth entrepreneurs access to resources and skills, providing the best chance for the success of their new businesses. Participants start their own businesses within this program. Interactive and supportive workshops along with field assignments help individuals to develop their business plans. Coaching and mentoring is provided during the critical start-up phase.
Eat Right Live Right: This health education program provides nutrition workshops and classes to children and young adults. This program equips children and young adults with the knowledge and skills to make healthier choices, which in turn prevents childhood obesity and chronic disease.
